海外設計在中國(1978～2010)

The"exportation"of architectural design,as an economic activity,had taken place in colonies of super powers long before the age of globalization.This was particularly evident in major coastal cities.The"Western-styled"buildings formed the late modern age streetscape in China.During the contemporary age,particularly since the implementation of the"Open Door Policy"in 1978.Western architectural design has become more influential in the formation of China’s cityscape and architecture nationwide.With Japanese,American and European architects having their design business started one-by-one,China has since then become the platform for architectural demonstration of"east meets west"and"modern technology meets Chinese culture".This article reviews the opportunities,problems and implications in architectural education brought by the"importation"of Western architectural designs in China.It suggests to have an"organic incorporation"of all the aforementioned into the curriculum of architectural education.
