Abstract

This artist book by the Hong Kong duo is an exhibition on paper—an extension of the artists’ contribution to the Echigo-Tsumari Triennale 2018. Exploring alternative approaches of reading photographs, it addresses issues of memory and identity through production of text and images, in a way subverting conventional historical narratives, within the social context of the little Tsunan township of Niigata.

Elaborately designed by award-winning book designer Luk Chi Cheong, it is a box set including a book in hard cover, seven offset-printed photos and a booklet of Chinese translation.
