Abstract
With the help of digital technology, digital financial inclusion has played an important role different from traditional finance in narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas. Taking the relevant data of six provinces in central China from 2011-2021 as samples, this paper analyzes the current situation and characteristics of digital financial inclusion and the urban - rural gap in Henan Province, constructs an econometric model between the two, and quantitatively analyzes the direct and indirect effects of digital financial inclusion on reducing the urban - rural gap. The research results show that digital financial inclusion has a significant positive effect on reducing the urban - rural gap, showing an inverted “U” shaped law, which has passed the inflection point at present; The coverage and digitization degree of digital finance have a significant effect on alleviating the urban - rural gap, but the depth of use is not significant; The industrial structure has played a significant Mesomeric effect, and the level of urbanization and government financial expenditure can effectively reduce the gap between urban and rural areas. Based on the research conclusions above, this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to further exert digital financial inclusion to reduce the urban - rural income gap. These measures include improving the digital environment, meeting financial needs, innovating financial tools, increasing agricultural investment and accelerating urbanization.
