Abstract
This paper aimed at introducing "Natural Translation", which was put forward by Harris at the end of 1970s and has been quite controversial ever since. The authors first introduced the background for the theory, its definition, three postulates, developmental stages, etc. ,followed by an elaboration of the enrichment and later development of the theory. Then they discussed on its theoretical significance and implications for translation pedagogy, especially for the current MTI education in China.
