Abstract

The "finish" verbs in the Zhuang language, with the semantic features of [+quantity] and [+time], have undergone different grammatical stages. The multifunctionality of the "finish" morphemes is triggered by different contextual situations, and its grammaticalization mode has diffused to neighboring Chinese dialects, enabling the functional changes of the "finish" morphemes in some Chinese dialects.
