“Great Expectations” is one of the greatest works by Charles John Huffam Dickens, a British realist writer in the 19th century, and this book is published in 1980 with different Chinese translation versions. This novel develops around the main character Pip, presenting three different stages of his life. With the guidance of various translation strategy, this paper analyzes and summarizes culture-loaded expression translation practice within the translated version of Wang Keyi. These translation techniques are analyzed specifically to judge whether it is appropriate or not. This analysis intends to enable the translator to choose the optimal translation techniques towards culture-loaded expression, in order to enhance the translation quality to guarantee the foreign readers a better reading experience of the translated version.
