Abstract
Villages-in-city have been generally considered have high crime rates. In this article, using the crime recordsof year2007 and 2008 of T village in Shenzhen city, we found crimes in villages-in-city are not equally distributed. The residential area has the highest density of crime, followed by commercial and adjacent areas, whereas theindustrial area has the lowest. The crime hot spots of villages-in-city are mainly in crowded areas such as residentialand commercial areas, as well as in remote area. The reason lies in that remote location, complex geographicalenvironment and over dense living conditions lead to lower guardianship and made it vulnerable to crime. To addressthe crime problems those of hot spots, we should take different measures. Criminal defense in residential areas shouldmainly focus on burglary. More effort should spend on preventing on fraud and fight in commercial areas, while insurrounding areas should focus on robbery.
