He was lost yesterday and we found him today is a photo book exploring the notion of subjectivity and identity by means of self-portraits created by the authors. This series of photographic re-enactment refers to found images, no matter historical or candid, of unidentifiable characters from various printed matters from postcards to newspaper. The questionable identity of all these subjects with very often twisted posture captured for the stolen moment constitutes an unusual choreography both conceptually and visually. A series of 28 portraits created in the last four years are represented in full lengths and close-ups to re-create the gaze in the exhibition context. Introduction by Caroline Ha Thuc.
