Abstract

This book introduces the building industry as it is practiced in China. The book discusses the cities, administrative structure, land acquisition and urban planning procedures, public and private design practice, architects’ registration and education, building procedures, tendering and regulations. In addition to building practice, this book describes the evolution of Chinese architecture over the last 50 years. The first edition was released in 1999 and was warmly welcomed in Hong Kong and overseas. In this new edition, the author has updated the contents and highlighted the aspects related to design. It is a must-buy for architectural students, academics and practitioners.
