Abstract
In order to investigate the movement rule of pedestrian inflow and better entrance location, we carried out controlled experiments with different entrance locations (center or right) and different numbers of pedestrians (10, 20, 30, 40). The time, velocity and spatial distribution of pedestrian inflow are analyzed. Moreover for the spatial distribution of pedestrian inflow, we examine its influence factors that include the rule of entrance avoidance, boundary attraction, angle distribution and proxemic value. The result shows that entrance located in the center of a room is better because of less inflow time and steady time, faster velocity of inflow and more reasonable spatial distribution. The paper can provide experimental foundation for developing the pedestrian inflow model.
