Project Details
Description
For flexible electronics, matching batteries need to be able to bendable, twistable, and even foldable, in addition to possess a decent energy density. At present, although some flexible power supplies have reached the demands of flexibly, the relatively poor capacity of these batteries still not enough to sustain the long-time use of flexible electronics. Lithium-ion batteries with high energy density and superior durability have been widely applied in electronics and vehicles. However, because of the integration technique and materials of lithium-ion batteries, the fabrication of flexible lithium-ion batteries still suffers from a variety of challenges, which also eventually hinders the use of flexible electronics. Base on the latest research progress, this project proposes the high performance, excellent flexibility, and high energy density flexible lithium-ion batteries based on the design of structure and materials and combines the finite element (FE)analysis to optimize the fabrication. The prime goal is to prepare a flexible lithium-ion battery which can bend, twist and fold, and provide high energy density meanwhile. The outcome of the project can provide a flexible power supply based on advanced design of structure and material for flexible electronics, such as wearable watch, flexible medical monitoring equipment, foldable smart phone, and other flexible electronics.
