Description
The presence and construction of ever-increasing sky-scrapers in height requires not
only the latest state-of-the-art construction technology but also continuous
monitoring of the health of such structures. Such round-the-clock monitoring
technology requires advanced knowledge in the behavior and life of st:ructw'es
subject internal and external influence including typhoon. ground movement. fatigue.
cyclic loading. etc. The present project aims to develop advanced monitoring
systems and implement the systems into six super-tall buildings in Hong Kong.
Taiwan and Mainland China.
