Description

Many natural and engineering systems are switching and/or impulsive systems with time delay, such as biological systems, power systems, sample-data control systems. It is well known that time delay often causes instability, chaotic mode or serious deterioration in the performance of control systems. When time delay is present in an impulsive switching system, the problem becomes even worse. Although much attention has been paid to stability analysis and controller synthesis of time-delay systems, and also impulsive and/or switching systems, but unfortunately to date there are few results on stability analysis and controller synthesis of impulsive switching time-delay systems in the open literature. This project will investigate and develop general approaches to stability analysis and controller synthesis of impulsive switching time-delay systems. The expected outcomes of this project will be a number of effective approaches to stability analysis and controller design of impulsive and switching time-delay systems.
