Description
Effective oral communication is instrumental to students' academic and professional success. Students do oral presentations (OPs) in many subjects throughout their undergraduate programme. However, previous studies have found that anxiety can severely impact students’ performance due to factors such as lack of confidence and stage fright.Discipline academics may not always be able to help students overcome these inhibitions. First, as non-language experts, they may find it challenging to communicate their expectations on the communication aspect of OPs. Second, the large number of students in each class makes it almost unfeasible for discipline academics to give detailed feedback to all students on each of their practice OP attempts.
