Description

This project uses the strategy of repurposing A2M, which is used for the treatment of arthritis, for the treatment of viral infections. This project focuses on preclinical studies on the drug A2M, including formulation development, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, Toxicology, and Safety Pharmacology assessments in cellular, animal, and human organoid models. The program will culminate in designing an A2M ointment for treating skin viral infections and providing a comprehensive preclinical studies report for investigational new drug (IND) submission. This study will result in a new product with a broad spectrum of antiviral. The formulation allows it to be used topically, with ease of use and patient compliance.
