Description
Backward heat conduction problems arise in many branches of engineering sciences, for
instance, the determination of temperature in modeling and control processes with heat
propagation in thermophysics and mechanics of continuous media. Some kinds of
evaluation techniques to determine the unknown temperature distribution and heat flux
history in an inaccessible domain from measured data are indispensable for industrial
and engineering applications. Studies of the complicated phenomena are particularly
challenging for quantitative analyses and modelling. The aim of this project is to provide a theoretical background and justification for these
non-destructive evaluation techniques. Based on the theoretical result, the researchers will develop
an efficient computational method for solving backward heat conduction problems.
