Description
In February 2011, the Office of Education Development and General Education (EDGE) launched a new UGC funded – Education Research Grant (ERG). The ERG is targeted to strengthen the teaching-research nexus, and to enhance the quality of teaching and learning, with an emphasis on globalisation, internationalisation and inter-institutional collaboration. The projects should be able to provide comprehensive evaluation data as well as systematic deliverables that will enhance the teaching and learning for better provision of quality education to students. In this round of call of proposals, 15 applications of the ERG proposals were received and funding available for this academic year is around $6 million with a ceiling of $1 million for each project. Members of the internal review panel nominated by various Deans of Colleges and Schools had pre-selected 10 proposals out of the 15 applications for further review by external reviewers. To enhance the quality assurance process, the office of EDGE is proposing to engage renowned scholars as external reviewers to evaluate the ERG proposals more effectively and systematically. The external reviewers will evaluate the project proposals according to the pre-set criteria as how the projects will fulfill the purpose of the ERG and the impact of these collaborative projects on CityU and the partner institution(s).Detail(s)
