Description

Graphene is a two-dimensional carbon nanomaterial with very large aspect ratio and exceptionally high electrical conductivity. Thus it is ideal filler material for linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) to form functional nanocomposites. In this proposed research, LLDPE nanocomposites filled with docecyl amine-modified graphene will be prepared using solution mixing process. The high electrical conductivity of functionalized graphene allows formation of conducting LLDPE nanocomposites at very low filler loadings. Furthermore, the electrical conductivity at various frequencies and temperatures, positive temperature coefficient effect and nonlinear conducting behavior of such novel nanocomposites will be investigated.
