Description
Simultaneously with the development and refinement of the use of neutron scattering to measure vibrational frequencies, the development of the computer and programming languages made vibrational mode and lattice dynamics calculations feasible so that atomic level calculations can go hand-in-hand with experiments. This project will combine molecular dynamics simulations and first principles calculations to study the phonon spectroscopy and lattice dynamics of a variety of functional matters to complement the experimental measurements conducted using China Spallation Neutron Source in Dongguan, Guangdong, China, so as to help advance the science and technology in materials science and life science and others.
