Description

This proposed project is concerned with a mathematical model for vapour transport in porous media with applications in the textile industry. The model may be described by a system of nonlinear parabolic partial differential equations with diffusion, convection and phase change. The major difference between the model to be studied and previous models is the separation of air and vapour. Mathematical analysis and numerical simulation will be done in this project to compare with existing experimental results and to find a more realistic model and boundary conditions. This may provide an effective method for evaluating new designs and testing new materials in the modern textile industry.
