Investigation of the Differentially-Fed Dielectric Resonator Antenna
Project: Research
Researcher(s)
Description
Today, the operating frequency of modern wireless systems has progressed upward to the millimetre wave region (f > 20 GHz). In this region, the dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is potentially very attractive because of its inherent advantages of small size, low loss, low cost, light weight, and ease of excitation. To increase the signal-to-noise ratio, differential circuits have been extensively used in wireless communications. In practical wireless transceivers, the differential feed for the antenna is more welcome because it enables the antenna to be integrated with transceiver circuits directly. Thus far, however, no work on the differentially fed DRA has been reported. In this project, the differentially fed DRA will be designed and verified by measurements.Detail(s)
