Project Details
Description
"This project is intended to identify and implement Teaching and Learning Activities (TLA) that can enhance innovation attitude and ability among Hong Kong university students. Education literature suggests many teaching and learning activities (TLAs), but which of these truly enhance innovation attitude and ability? Which of them are really relevant to Hong Kong students in a Chinese cultural context? No such research has ever been carried out to my knowledge. It is reasonable to ask such questions since education is culture-specific. This project aims to systematically assess and select TLAs that can enhance innovation attitude, ability and the external motivation of university students in Hong Kong. The project will start with an extensive literature review to identify all potential TLAs. Then a focus group discussion and survey will be conducted to shortlist those critical factors relevant to the innovation attitude and ability of university students in Hong Kong. The final selected TLAs will be implemented into a General Education (GE) course at City University of Hong Kong. The results will be further assessed after the implementation by students before being shared with colleagues in all other universities that are interested in innovation education.
