Immersive Teaching and Learning: A UGC Grant

This project is conceived to research and prepare materials related to immersive teaching and learning as part of CityU collaborative research grant on the same topic to the UGC. The materials include the overall description of the UGC proposal and a series of multi-disciplinary ‘demonstrator’ projects. The TLF fund proposal will be used to conduct over-arching research on behalf of a number of CityU investigators, and to help coordinate external investigators at three other universities in Hong Kong. A selected number of international investigators may also be approached in the preparation of the UGC grant. The UGC grant is due 31 December 2013. We will target areas where the immersive learning can facilitate new pedagogies, namely, virtual learning on historic architecture and, engineering facilities; and visualization of big data across arts and sciences. A series of demonstrator projects will be conceived for development should the UGC grant be successful.
