Description
The Department of Linguistics and Translation (LT) provides education and training to help our students to become language professionals. Our students majoring in translation (BATI) need to obtain real-life work experience on both translation and interpretation to boost their competitiveness in the industry. Starting early to explore their potential career path will enhance students’ employability in the future. Since its emergence in the 1970s, audio-description (AD) has become more common in Hong Kong theatres in the previous decade. As the demand for AD grows, the need for professional audio-describers increases, and audio-describing service is anticipated to become even more popular. AD shares many similarities with interpretation, and providing training of audio-description to LT students will broaden their horizon and enhance their competence in professional language practices related to interpretation.Detail(s)
