Experimental Art in Hong Kong: Zuni Icosahedron's Contribution to Cultural Policy, Cross-Cultural Exchange, and Cultural Expressions of the BRI
DescriptionThis project focuses on Hong Kong performing arts group, Zuni Icosahedron, and their role in forming a cultural policy of "experimental art." Its aims are threefold: 1. Analyse performances in Hong Kong that took place in fall 2017, two Zuni Icosahedron productions and two performances produced by the HKSAR, all of which marked, in different ways, the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong's handover. 2. Critically evaluate Zuni Icosahedron's "experimental art" policy, as it has been formed cross-culturally, implemented locally, and exported internationally from 2000 to the present. 3. Investigate and compare cultural expressions of Belt and Road Initiative in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Xinjiang, as well as in other cities along the Belt-Road.
