Description

The researchers of this project plan to develop hardware implementation technology for elliptic curve cryptographic operations and Weil/Tate bilinear pairings. Their purposes are to achieve effective Intellectual Property (IP) rights protection and enhance personal use of state-of-the-art cryptographic techniques. Hardware solutions to IP rights protection will be proposed and elliptic curve cryptography will be used to achieve smaller memory footprint and lower power consumption. The implementation of bilinear pairings will allow potential customers to access the latest cryptographic techniques on encryption, digital signature, authentication and many other new cryptosystems which include identity-based and certificateless cryptosystems. Once the technology is built, end users can use it to build both standards-based and proprietary IP rights protection solutions. The technology will also allow other system developers to gain access to the latest cryptographic techniques which are based on bilinear pairings.
