Description

In this project, the researchers will develop a new framework of distributed space-time codes for cooperative diversity in wireless networks. They will study distributed space-time codes to achieve space diversity through relay transmission to combat the multipath fading effect. The traditional distributed space-time codes require perfect synchronization among the signals from different relay nodes, which is difficult to achieve in wireless mobile environments. The new scheme can overcome this difficulty. The investigators’ main strategy is a pseudo-random encoding technique that allows distributed encoding at different relay nodes without strict synchronization requirements. They will conduct a comprehensive theoretical investigation on both theoretical and application aspects of the new scheme.
