Development of Digital Manufacturing and Motion Control Laboratory

Over the past a few years, the key professionals of the Digital Manufacturing and Motion Control Laboratory at City University of Hong Kong have obtained nearly HK$ 20M from both the Hong Kong government and industry, produced over 100 technical articles in the international-ranked journals and transferred valuable technologies to industry for start-up companies. Very recently, the laboratory also successfully attracted a substantial donation from Oriental Machine Tool Co. Ltd. Using the industrial donations and government matching funds, the laboratory will continue to develop advanced technologies in the relevant areas to benefit society.This project aims to enhance the development of the laboratory by achieving the following objectives:to conduct research in the areas of digital manufacturing and motion controls, in both fundamental and applied perspectives;to generate international-level research outcomes (in top journal publications); andto timely transfer knowledge of research results to industry and to serve industry by conducting company-sponsored projects.
