Description
With the recent establishment of the City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) campus, there is a vital need to support its newly onboarded faculty members in state-of-the-art pedagogical development, including digital learning, team-based learning, and the integration of Generative AI. To ensure a seamless synchronization of teaching excellence between the new campus and the Hong Kong main campus, this project proposes leveraging the established expertise of the Talent and Education Development Office (TED). We are seeking funding support to provide intensive staff development activities specifically tailored for Dongguan colleagues. Led by senior staff member from TED at the Hong Kong campus, expert facilitators will regularly travel to deliver comprehensive workshops in Dongguan, which will be supplemented by extended discussions and individual consultations. Similarly, selected Dougguan colleagues will travel to CityUHK to attend and share their exemplary work in learning and teaching. These development sessions will focus on six strategic themes, including:• New Faculty Orientation• Outcome-Based Teaching and Learning (OBTL)• Digital Learning and Generative AI• Team-Based Learning (TBL)• Security and Business Continuity Plan of Digital Learning Systems• Educational Research and PublicationsThe requested funds will be utilized to support essential logistics, including transportation, subsistence allowances, hospitality (e.g., working lunches and refreshments to facilitatenetworking and discussion), and general workshop consumables. The success and impact of this initiative will be rigorously measured through workshop attendance rates, end-of-workshop evaluation metrics, and a longitudinal three-year follow-up to track the number of subsequent Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) publications produced by the participating faculty.
