Description

The Centre for Innovative Application Development of Multimedia and Internet Technologies aims to establish itself as a centre of excellence for innovative applications of multimedia information and Internet related technologies. The Centre responds directly to the University's call for emphasis on professional practice and applied research and to promote practical exploitation and effective deployment of technology through co-operation with industry. The Centre draws on the existing strength of the Department of Computer Science in the area of multimedia information processing, visualization and Internet computing. The core members of the Centre, are recognized as experts in multimedia and school-based Internet applications. The Centre focuses on:       identification of challenging projects of multimedia and Internet systems which will create an impact on the society;commercialization and/or technology transfer of applied R & D results in these strategic areas;promotion of exchange programmes and dissemination of knowledge between academia and industry in the area of multimedia and Internet application developments.
