An Investigation into the Surface Effects of Faceted TiO2on Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production
DescriptionAs fossil fuels continue to deplete, photocatalytic H2, evolution using nature light is increasingly being seen as a potential alternative due to its low cost, nature friendly and sustainability. Recently, Ti02with a high percentage of active (001) facet has been shown to be effective at producing H2, under UV light. However, there has been a considerable amount of confusion in literatures about the chemistry behind this performance especially the (001) facet coverage and the concentration of surface directing agents (SDA) have being suggested the two major causes. In this proposal, systematically comparison between each factor will be carried out to rationalize the key factor behind the photocatalytic H2production of faceted Ti02.
