A Sustainable Scheme of Capacity Building towards Continuous Teaching Professional Development and Integration of IT in English Language Education

The pervasive adoption of IT in education plays a pivoting role in the worldwide trend of education reform. Teaching professions are facing daily challenges not only in using innovative technologies and tools to produce and deliver instructional resources, but more challenging is the task of knowing how to tightly integrating IT to teach in ways that can fulfill diverse learnersneeds.This project proposes an Engagement strategy for developing an IT-rich curriculum for English Language Education and establishes a capacity building school collaboration network, called WELNET, (initially consists of 10 local schools, involving over 10,000 students and 100 teachers) that supports a sustainable ITEd culture and shared responsibility among collaborating schools. WELNET aims also to engage teachers in meaningful activities that primarily focus their professional skills towards the process of facilitating learning and enables sharing of experience and digital learning resources as well as students' learning outcomes.
