Project Details
Description
In this project, we propose to develop a motion prediction algorithm for distributed
interactive applications to address the network latency problem of the Internet. In
our earlier work, we developed two short-term motion predictors, one for predicting
3D navigation and the other for predicting hand motion. However, these methods
have an optimal performance when the prediction length, i.e., how far ahead in time
that we need to predict, is no longer than 0.5 second. In this work, we propose to
augment a short-term prediction algorithm with prediction results from a long-term
prediction algorithm to improve the prediction accuracy and to extend the
prediction length.
