Project Details

Description

A good site layout is vital to ensure the safety of the working environment and effective operations, to minimize travel time, to decrease materials handling, and to avoid the obstruction of material and plant movements in a construction site. Previous studies of construction site layout planning (CSLP) only focused on the static equal-area site layout planning, which is far away from reality. In order to help the practitioners to solve CSLP, which is dynamic unequal-area site layout planning problem, a dynamic CSLP decision-making system is needed. A dynamic CSLP decision-making system, which can handle unequal-area, dynamic, multi-objective optimization CSLP problems using ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithms will be proposed in the research. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed CSLP decision-making system will be tested and verified by two project cases.
