Winner of My Own Discovery Award 2014 (my students from GE1218)

This group of students developed a device, called Transfriendly, that incorporates a white cane to help visually impaired individuals have easier access to public transportation, such as a bus. Currently, visually impaired individuals need to hold a pre-prepared bus number sign when waiting for a bus. They need to count on the drivers and/or others around them to inform them when the right bus arrives. Transfriendly can help these individuals travel more independently.
