The Highly Cited Researchers 2023 list from Clarivate™ identifies and celebrates individuals who have demonstrated significant and broad influence in their field(s) of research. Each researcher selected has authored multiple Highly Cited Papers which rank in the top 1% by citations in one or more of 21 fields (as defined by the Essential Science Indicators™, or ESI) or across several fields over the past eleven years. Based on citation data, the award list is also refined using other quantitative metrics, as well as qualitative analysis and expert judgment. Through rigorous selection criteria and comprehensive analysis, this award recognizes researchers whose exceptional and community-wide contributions shape the future of science, technology and academia globally.
