Prof Ron Chen (Chair Professor of EE) and Dr Yang Lou (Post Doc of EE) have received the Chinese Institute of Electronics Best Paper Award 2020 (中國電子學會 - 電子資訊領域優秀科技論文). The winning paper, co-authored with a scholar from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, is titled "Enhancing Controllability Robustness of q-Snapback Networks through Redirecting Edges". Dr Lou is also our PhD graduate (2017). During his studies with EE, Dr Lou was supervised by Dr Kelvin Yuen and specialized in researching techniques for improving online and offline history-assisted evolutionary algorithms.
The awards will be presented annually to the papers deemed the best among the submissions in terms of its impact, originality and novelty. There were around 100 submissions this year and the paper by Prof Chen and Dr Lou is one of the 8 papers selected for the 2020 award.
