Since 2015, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation awards Carl Friedrich von Siemens Fellowships to foster international scientists who aspire to a research stay in the Greater Munich area. Winners of a Humboldt Foundation Research Award who collaborate with host institutes in Munich or the surrounding area are granted a Carl Friedrich von Siemens Research Award by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, each of which comes with €65,000 in funding.
Every year, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany grants up to 100 Humboldt Research Awards to internationally renowned academics. The Foundation maintains a network of well over 29,000 Humboldtians from all disciplines in more than 140 countries worldwide – including 55 Nobel Laureates.
