Research Description
REN’s research empowers buildings with occupant adaptive control through perceiving and integrating fine-grained occupant information to improve building energy efficiency and sustainability. He leverages multiple sensing methods (e.g., cameras, motion sensors, and geophones) and simulation methods to estimate real-time and dynamic internal heat gains, thereby establishing parametric building energy assessment method to facilitate decision-making on comparison of alternatives and/or daily operation.
