Biography

Eddie obtained a PhD in Architecture at University of Cambridge in 2024, with a thesis focusing on the potentiality of flexible working among architectural professionals. He joined CityU in November 2024 as an assistant professor. Based on his PhD, he will futher investigate the emerging spatialities of flexible working among creative professionals.

Before Cambridge, Eddie received his Master in City Planning from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2019), with a design thesis exploring the form of a live/work community under autonomous driving and flexible working; and Master of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis (2014), with a degree project envisioning a live/work community for artists and designers.

Eddie used to be an architect in New York City and Kansas City, engaging in design from the scale of furniture to that of cities. Featured projects include New York Public Library and the Golden State Warrior Arena. He also worked as a research assistant at MIT’s Senseable City Lab during which he explored charging schemes for the autonomous boats in the canals of Amsterdam.
