Biography

Professor Lin is a leading scholar in corporate law and governance, whose empirical research offers critical insights into how regulations and governance practices influence corporate behavior. Her work has appeared in leading academic journals—including the Journal of Legal Studies and the Journal of Empirical Legal Studies—and has been featured in major media outlets, such as The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and Bloomberg. Professor Lin’s scholarship has been cited by the Delaware Court of Chancery, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, underscoring its impact on policymaking.

In addition to her role as Associate Editor of the International Review of Law and Economics, she was appointed President (2025–2026) of the Asian Law and Economics Association (AsLEA). Professor Lin is also a Research Member of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI). Her academic contributions have led to visiting positions at Washington University in St. Louis, Reichman University, and Academia Sinica. Prior to her academic career, Professor Lin practiced as a corporate lawyer specializing in initial public offerings and corporate finance transactions. She earned her J.S.D. and J.S.M. degrees from Stanford Law School, as well as an M.B.A. and an LL.B. from National Taiwan University.
