Biography

Youngsub Lee is an Assistant Professor of Crime Science in the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences.

His research interests include policing from a theoretical perspective, particularly police legitimacy theory, as well as the application of new technologies in crime and policing, and the evidence-based verification of policing interventions. He has been actively involved in policing research projects with the London Metropolitan Police and Merseyside Police in the UK, as well as the National Office of Investigation in Korea.

Prior to joining City U, he gained over ten years' experience in policing, ranging from field investigations and transnational cooperative operations to policy implementation, primarily in relation to financial crimes, at the Korean National Police Agency and INTERPOL (NCB Seoul).

He holds a PhD in Security and Crime Science from University College London (UCL), having previously studied at Seoul National University (MA) and the Korean National Police University (BA).
