Biography

Yizhen (Jane) Jia is a transdisciplinary researcher and former algorithmic product owner whose work critically interrogates the infrastructures of the attention economy while actively building alternatives. Bridging a B.S. in Management Information Systems, an M.F.A. with a focus on philosophy and media theory, and data-driven industry roles, she explores how systems that integrate informational, cognitive, and ecological dimensions can sustain renewal rather than exhaustion.

Her project, Negentropic Symbiosis, offers more than critique; it develops a constructive architectural response through the HAA (Human-Avatar-Agent) model. Extending intelligence and sentience beyond standard LLMs, the model advances both theoretical paradigms and a formalized set of testable propositions designed to foster collective individuation, care, and transformative continuity.

As an active voice in the global discourse on technology and media, she has presented at DiGRA (2025, 2026) and POM (2025), with ISEA 2026 forthcoming. She also serves as an Expert Advisor and Extended Board Member for the Politics of the Machines (POM) conference series. Her research lies at the intersection of philosophy of technology, media theory, information theory and beyond.
