Prof. YANG Yi (楊屹)
- Assistant Professor, Department of Biostatistics
- Assistant Professor, School of Data Science
Biography
Dr. Yang received his PhD and MS in Biostatistics from the University of Minnesota and his BS in Management Information Systems from Chu Kochen Honors College, Zhejiang University. Prior to joining CityU, he served as a postdoctoral research scientist in the Department of Biostatistics at Columbia University under the supervision of Professor Iuliana Ionita-Laza. His research focuses on variable selection methods for high-dimensional data using knockoff statistics and Bayesian hierarchical models. He has developed a number of statistical methods to identify risk variants for human diseases in genetic datasets with complex hierarchical and correlation structures. He also worked as the principal statistician on several collaborative projects with physician researchers. His research interests include high-dimensional variable selection, statistical genetics, knockoff statistics, and Bayesian hierarchical models.
