Biography

Dr. XIE Xian is currently a Research Assistant Professor at City University of Hong Kong. He obtained his PhD from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and completed his postdoctoral research training at the Faculty of Medicine of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Science Park.

His research expertise lies in the design, synthesis, and biomedical applications of novel biomimetic materials, including hydrogels and coacervates. In addition his research, he serves as a reviewer for prestigious journals such as Cell Biomaterials and is a member of the Youth Editorial Board for the journal Nano TransMed.

Dr. XIE has published numerous papers as the first or corresponding author (including co-authorship) in leading international journals, including Nature Chemistry, Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS), Angewandte Chemie International Edition, and Advanced Materials. His research has been featured and highlighted in high-impact review journals such as Nature Reviews Chemistry and Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering.
