Biography
Professor Xiaowei Zang was Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at City University of Hong Kong from August 2013 to April 2019. He worked at the University of Sheffield in the UK as the Professor of Chinese Studies and Head of the School of East Asian Studies before joining CityU in 2013. He is the only scholar from universities in mainland China, Macau, and Hong Kong to make to the list of top 2% most cited scientists in the Category of Social Sciences (career-impact, 1960-2020) in the world. His current research interests include climate change mitigation, environmental governance, and sustainable urbanization in China.
