Dr. CHEN Xiankai (陳先凱)
Ph.D. (JLU)
Biography
Dr. Chen joined the City University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor in September 2021. In 2015, he earned his Ph.D. degree from Jilin University (JLU). Then he moved to King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia, and worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow during 2015-2016. He then moved to Georgia Institute of Technology, and worked as a Posdoctoral Fellow and Research Scientist from 2017 to 2020. In January 2021, he moved to Kyushu University as a Research Associate Professor.
Research Interests/Areas
His research interests include multi-scale simulations of organic and organic-inorganic hybrid materials via combinations of quantum-chemistry approaches, condensed-matter physical models, and molecular dynamics simulations. His goal is to determine the nature of the physico-chemical mechanisms in organic and hybrid material systems leading, for instance, to: (a) strong luminescence or photovoltaic response; (b) efficient charge or spin transport behavior; (c) novel quantum properties for quantum information science.
