Dr. FUNG Wing Hong (馮穎匡)

After completed the PhD in Construction Safety Management, Dr. Ivan Fung was engaged in various researches on Construction & Project Management, BIM Applications, Automation in Construction Safety and Management, Engineering Education, Industrial Safety Psychology, SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality) Management, Resilience Engineering and Risk Management, etc. In 2013 - 2014, as a Visiting Scholar (Funded by the 1st Hong Kong - Scotland Partners in Post-Doctoral Research 2012/13 Award, HK and Scottish Government), his major research interests focused about System Dynamic in Safety Management, Resilience Engineering in Mega projects, which are 2 new areas nourished by the funded post-doctoral fellowship programme at Herriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. About research and publications, Dr. Ivan Fung contributed more than 70 nos. of international journal and conference papers (with over 966 Citations, H-index = 14, Google Scholar at 7 July, 2017) and overall research funding awarded as Principal Investigator [4 no. of UGC External Funding (2 CERGs, 1 GRF, 1 ECF); SRGs, TDGs, IISs, etc.) is over 6 HK$ millions in the past decade. About teaching at CityU, Dr. Ivan Fung engaged more than 20 courses in the past years (95% of Teaching Evaluation Results are better than the averages of Dept./ Faculty / University) and under his direct supervision, more than 40 students' project awards had been clinched from local and international competition/award/prize (OSHC, HKIE, CIOB, HKICM, MTR, CLP, etc.) in the past decade. In Hong Kong, Dr. Ivan Fung was the founding EC member and now is the Chairman (2014-2018) & Fellow Member of Institute of Safety and Health Practitioners (ISHP), Governing Council Member and Fellow Member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Auditors (HKICA); Technical Assessor (HKCAS Technical Expert) for Certification Bodies of OHSAS 18001 (Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS), Innovation and Technology Commission, Government of HKSAR); Member of Judge Panels of several local competitions such as OSH/OH Awards (2014-now) & HKIFM Award (2015), etc.; Programme Committee Member of various local safety conferences, safety advisor/ research partner of local construction companies; Invited Speaker of many seminars and conferences, e.g. Mid-year Seminar by OSHB, Labour Department, HKSAR, etc.; Vetting Committee Member of HK Safety & Health Certification Scheme (2016-now) (Occupational Safety and Health Council, OSHC, HK) and EC member of Hong Kong Federation of OSH Associations (FHKOSHAs), and etc. In PRC China, Dr. Ivan Fung was the Specially Invited Forum Speaker at Semi-Plenary session, at the 5th & 6th China International Forum (Bi-annually at 2010, 2012) on Work Safety, hosted by State Administration of Work Safety, PR China and the International Labour Organization (ILO); Visiting Lecturer of Safety Engineering (Invited by School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing); Safety Advisor of Iron Metal Mine (Invited by China Academy of Safety and Technology, Beijing) and Fertilizer Manufacturing Factories (Shan Dong), and etc. At overseas level, Dr. Ivan Fung is currently one of the International Review Panel Members (2011-2013, 2017) for the Robert W. Campbell Award, USA (Approved by National Safety Council, USA). The Award is the highest international award for Business Excellence for Safety, Health & Environmental Management, with collaborative effort of the National Safety Council (USA), Exxon Mobil Corporation, with large-scaled network of Global Partners; Training Advisor of Campbell Institute, USA; Programme Committee/ Organizing Members of various overseas conferences (e.g. in 2014, Co-organizer of Safety Mini-symposia, Japan, COMPSAFE 2014-Computational Engineering and Science for Safety and Environmental Problems Conference, Chaired by University of Tokyo; Invited Programme Committee Members and International Review Panel Member, CIB W107 conference, 2014, Nigeria, Africa); International Refereed Journal Reviewer of more than 20 high ranked academic journals (e.g. Accident Analysis and Prevention, Safety Science and International Journal of Disaster Resilience in the Built Environment, etc.) and, etc.
