Prof. FU Wai Chung Stephen (傅偉聰)
- Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry
Biography
Dr. FU received his B.Sc. in chemistry from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2013 and earned his PhD at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (with Professor Fuk Yee Kwong) in 2018. His graduate studies focused on the development of phosphine ligands and palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. In 2017, He was selected as SciFinder Future Leader by Chemical Abstracts Service (ACS). Following a Croucher Postdoctoral Fellowship at MIT (with Professor Timothy F. Jamison) from 2018 to 2020, he returned to Hong Kong and became a research assistant professor at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In 2023, He was appointed as Assistant Professor of Chemistry at City University of Hong Kong.
Research Interests/Areas
The mission of the FU group is to address synthetic challenges through continuous flow chemistry and new technologies. Our research program seeks to employ the many benefits of continuous flow chemistry to explore the following areas,
• Discovery and application of new chemical reactions
• Continuous flow-enabled gas-liquid reactions
• Streamlined continuous flow synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs)
• Development of synthetic methodologies
Positions Available
We invite highly motivated and creative individuals to join our young and passionate research group. Several positions of PhD Students and Research Assistants are available. Please contact Dr. Fu ([email protected]) directly with your CV.
