Biography

Vivian Lee received her PhD from the University of British Columbia. She teaches and researches in Chinese/East Asian cinema, cultural heritage, and Hong Kong culture. her work has been published in academic journals and collected volumes including Modern Chinese Literature and Culture, Journal of Chinese Cinemas, Chinese Films in Focus 2, and International Journal of Heritage Studies. Her most recent book is The Other Side of Glamour: the Left-wing Studio Network in Hong Kong Cinema in the Cold War Era and Beyond (Edinburgh UP, 2020).
